Any other ladies here who get extremely pissed off when a guy messages them and calls them babes, hun, sexy or is it just me?
I find it so offensive and offputting. Im not some barbie doll to be called babe. Im not hun or hunny, thats bee vomit, i aint. And as for sexy, how do you know im sexy?
Please guys dont use those terms on us, this is 2009 not the 1940's

`i lived in New Orleans for about 6 months and got into the habit of using terms of endearment like that, it was so common down there. when i moved back to California i would unconsciously call females "darling" and "hun" which went over fine with my friends, not so much with the random chick at the coffee counter. I certainly didn't mean to objectify anyone. I also picked up the habit of saying "ma'am" which didn't go over well with younger ladies as they felt it was something you call an older woman. so i just refer to everyone as "dude" now. fair is fair.

` I don't think it's very polite to call a lady "dude", dude.

I'm ok with it being used as a term of endearment with close friends, or from a guy who's interested in me and I'm interested in back, but somebody I just meet im not ok with. Its not that i find it offensive but ackward. If its just from where you live I can understand but its still a little ackward.

` I've even heard some guys call their girlfriends "man" in the same context. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but that isn't very gentlemanly.

Agreed, that's what a boy would say to a girlfriend not a true man.
